Joern Martens

Joern Martens (* 1968 in Buxtehude ) is a German sound engineer and cook .

After Martens learned the profession of cook in Hamburg from 1984 to 1987, he worked for a number of years in upscale gastronomy. 1993 to 1995 followed a second vocational training as a merchant in wholesale and foreign trade. Since 1998 Martens has been working full-time as a film sound angler and sound engineer on various film sets and has worked in around a hundred cinema and television productions, including Fatih Akıns Soul Kitchen (2009), where the sound engineer also did food styling and cooking coaching due to his earlier training Birol Ünels took over for the role of "Shayn Weiss". Apart from his sound work, Martens is also sometimes active in the areas of food style and cooking advice for film and television productions. He also appears in some productions in smaller roles as an actor.

Based on his work for Soul Kitchen , a cookbook for the film was created by Joern Martens, which is initially available together with the soundtrack in a limited "Deluxe Edition".
