Jakob Claussen

Jakob Claussen (born June 9, 1961 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German film producer .

Claussen studied at the University of Television and Film Munich from 1985 to 1989 and founded the production company Claussen & Wöbke in Munich in 1992 with Thomas Wöbke , which from 2003 onwards with the addition of a third co-partner Ulrike "Uli" Putz as Claussen + Wöbke + Putz Filmproduktion operated. In 2010 Thomas Wöbke left the management at his own request, but remained a partner in CP and works as a freelance producer with his own company. Since then the company has been called Claussen + Putz Filmproduktion.

Claussen won the Bavarian Film Prize in 1996 for Nach Fünf im Urwald and in 2004 for Lights . The film Beyond Silence was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

Jakob Claussen was one of the founding members of the German Film Academy in 2003 .
