Björn Leonhardt (born December 20, 1978 in Berlin ) is a former German ice hockey goalkeeper who played in the DEL for Starbulls Rosenheim , Hannover Scorpions , Adler Mannheim and Nürnberg Ice Tigers , among others . Since 2016 he has been the coach of the league team at ECC Preussen Berlin .

Player career

The 1.78 m tall goalie began his career in the DEL team of Starbulls Rosenheim, for which he played five games in the top German professional game class between 1995 and 1997 . Leonhardt's other DEL stations were the Hanover Scorpions and the Adler Mannheim, for whose junior team, the "Jungadler", he was also used in the major league in the 1999/00 season . After a brief engagement with the Oklahoma City Blazers in the US Minor League CHL , the goalkeeper switched to the Nürnberg Ice Tigers during the 2000/01 season , via which he returned to Hanover.

In 2002 he played at HC Bozen in Serie A before moving to the regional league team of the Berlin Capitals , with whom he was promoted to the ice hockey league in 2003/04 . After the financial end of the Berlin Capitals club in 2004, he moved to the newly founded ECC Preussen Juniors Berlin to their team in the Regionalliga Nord-Ost. In 2009 he won the championship of the Regionalliga North / East with the ECC and qualified with the team for the top division season 2009/10.
