Die Vampirschwestern is a German children's film by director Wolfgang Groos from 2012 . The Fantasy - Comedy is based on the novel series The Vampire Sisters of Franziska Gehm .
action
The two twelve-year-old half-vampire sisters Silvania and Dakaria move together with their parents, the vampire father Mihai and her human mother Elvira Tepes, from Transylvania to a small German town. For the two very dissimilar sisters, this amounts to a culture shock. While Dakaria doesn’t find her way around in the human world, Silvania enjoys being human. They don't really get in touch at school, although a little romance seems to be developing between Jacob and Silvania. Her only friend is the hard of hearing Helene, who hides her disability, but can smell things very well.
Dirk van Kombast, the family's neighbor, finds out that something is wrong with his neighbors and orders vampire hunter equipment online. When finally even Dakarias flight competition is doomed to failure, because as a half-vampire she does not have enough flight power and Silvania cannot visit the swimming pool with Jacob because of the acute risk of sunburn, the two want to change their situation. By chance they discover Ali bin Schick's shop, who can fulfill a heartfelt wish. Although he warns the two that the wishes are dangerous, the two are sure: Silvania wants to become a real person, Dakaria a real vampire. But Ali bin Schick accidentally swapped his wishes.
This leads to numerous entanglements: Silvania wants to drink Jacob's blood, Dakaria is bullied by classmates and cannot defend herself. Desperate, they go to Ali bin Schick. His grandson Ludo, who happens to be a classmate of the two, finds the formula for an antidote. In order to achieve this, however, they need a flower that can only be found by its smell and only picked and eaten at midnight enables a new heart's desire. The hostile group of classmates overhear the sisters while they talk about Helene's disability and olfactory sense, finds Helene at the cemetery and makes fun of her. As a result, she no longer trusts the sisters. When Silvania brings the bullying classmates up a high tree that they cannot come down and apologize, Helene helps them on condition that they learn their secret. The sisters reveal themselves, and together with Helene they look for the flower in the cemetery. But Dirk van Kombast gets in their way. Ultimately, however, with the help of Ludo, who turns out to be a seer , they manage to overcome Dirk and get hold of the flower. The two have learned from their cause and become half-vampires again.

Reviews
The film received mostly positive ratings. Many critics liked the set-up and the humor of the film, but parts of the film would not look very modern, but rather old-fashioned. The play of the young actors as well as the completely over-the-top acting of Michael Kessler as a vampire hunter was praised .
“Linking the popular vampire theme with the adventures of two young migrant women promises an exciting and funny story. But this turns out to be disappointing stale. "
“A classic coming-of-age story is in, the target audience is female teenagers who love ' Hanni and Nanni ' and - like their peers in the film - read ' girls '. (...) A neat, tailor-made production by Claussen + Wöbke + Putz and Deutsche Columbia Pictures with consistently likeable actors, which overall is perhaps just a bit too good. "
"A delightful fantasy children's film that garnishes the turbulent plot with bizarre gags and magic tricks and skillfully combines them with the knowledge that tolerance and true friendship are the basis for fair cooperation, but also for a strong, self-confident personality."
