Wolfgang Groos (born April 22, 1968 in Kassel ) is a German film director who primarily makes films for children and young people .

Life

Wolfgang Groos was born in Kassel in 1968 and worked from 1993 to 2004 as a unit manager and assistant director for several film productions, including the films Rennschwein Rudi Rüssel by Peter Timm , Fandango by Matthias Glasners (2000), Der Felsen by Dominik Graf (2002), Das flying classrooms by Tomy Wigand (2003,) and Napola by Dennis Gansel (2004). In 2003 he studied at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb) with the goal of "Producer". With his first own short film When Two Quarrel (2004) Groos was awarded the Critics' Prize at the Mexico International Film Festival.

In 2005 Wolfgang Groos directed several episodes of the television series Friends Forever and from 2007 to 2009 for the television series Rennschwein Rudi Rüssel . His first feature film was Hangtime in 2009, Suburban Crocodiles 3 followed in 2010 and The Vampire Sisters in 2012 . The next films are system errors - When Inge dances (2013), Die Vampirschwestern 2 (2014) and Rico, Oskar und das Herzgebreche (2015). In 2016 Robbi, Tobbi and the Fliewatüüt appeared . His latest film, The Witch Lilli saves Christmas , was released in November 2017.
