Heike Merker (* 1967 in Berlin ) is a German make- up artist .

Life

Merker learned her craft at Hasso von Hugo's make-up school in Berlin. After her first experiences in smaller film productions and television series, she had her first major film project in 1999 with director Leander Haussmann's Sonnenallee . Other successful German productions in which Merker participated in the period that followed included a. Good bye Lenin! , Mr. Lehmann , barefoot and elementary particles .

With Valley of Flowers , the first international co-production followed in 2006, which was followed by other successful films such as Sturm (2009), John Rabe (2009), Roland Emmerichs Anonymous or Cloud Atlas by Tom Tykwer . She was also in Germany with Krabat , Goethe! and The Medicus involved in many successful films at the same time.

For your work in Goethe! and Anonymous , she was each awarded the German Film Prize. She won the renowned American Saturn Award in 2013 for her performance in the film Cloud Atlas .
