Corinna Kirchhoff

Corinna Kirchhoff (born March 9, 1958 in Düsseldorf ) is a German actress .

Life

She studied at the Max Reinhardt School for Drama in Berlin . She made her spectacular theater debut in 1983 under the direction of Peter Stein at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz as Irina in Chekhov's Three Sisters . In 1984 she received the OE Hasse Prize . Since then she has worked in numerous theater plays as well as various productions for film and television. In 1996 she was named Actress of the Year by Theater heute . She played Helena in Peter Stein's production of Goethe's Faust I and II . At the Burgtheater in Vienna , where she was engaged since 1999, she played leading roles under the direction of Andrea Breth , including the title role in Maria Stuart by Friedrich Schiller . In 2002 she received a Nestroy nomination for Best Actress for her portrayal of Maria Stuart . At the Salzburg Festival she was seen as Genia in Schnitzler's Das weite Land . Kirchhoff had been engaged at the Schauspielhaus Zurich since the summer of 2005 and was involved in the successful world premiere of Yasmina Reza's The God of Carnage (invitation to the Berlin Theatertreffen 2007). Then she was a member of the Berliner Ensemble . From January 2015 she was engaged at the Schauspiel Frankfurt . She is now back at the Berliner Ensemble.
