All three parishes belonged to the Mirande district from 1793 to 1801. La Cassagne, Loubersan and Vidailhan have been assigned to the Arrondissement of Mirande since 1801 and belonged to the Canton of Mirande from 1793 to 2015 . In 1822 the municipalities of La Cassagne (1821: 72 inhabitants), Loubersan (1821: 230 inhabitants) and Vidailhan (1821: 97 inhabitants) united to form today's municipality.
Population development
The population development is typical for a French rural community. Developments between 1793 and 1856 are normal with strong growth. Between 1856 and 1876 there was a first wave of emigration. A short period of growth was followed by strong rural exodus between 1886 and 1975. The historic low was reached in 1975. Today, the population is close to the low point again with strong fluctuations in the meantime.
