Lasséran ( Gaskognisch Lasseran ) is a French commune with 385 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitanie region ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mirande . Its inhabitants call themselves Lasséranais / Lasséranaises .
geography
Lasséran is located on a slope around seven kilometers southwest of the city Auch in the south of the Gers department. The river Sousson crosses the east of the parish and in parts forms the eastern parish boundary. The community consists of the village of Lasséran, several hamlets and numerous individual farms. In terms of traffic, the community is less than a kilometer west of the N21 .
history
In the Middle Ages, the place was within the county of Astarac, which was part of the province of Gascony. A castle and a fortified settlement were built in 1279. From 1793 to 1801 the community belonged to the district of Auch. In addition, Lasséran was part of the canton of Auch from 1793 to 1801. From 1801 to 1973 it was in the Canton of Auch-Sud. Then from 1973 to 2015 within the canton of Auch-Sud-Ouest . The municipality has been assigned to the arrondissement Auch since 1801. In 1836 part of the previous municipality of Castagniere came to Lasséran.
