Laas ( Gascon : Laàs) is a French commune with 298 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitania region (until 2015 Midi-Pyrénées ); it belongs to the Arrondissement of Mirande and the municipality of Cœur d'Astarac en Gascogne . The residents call themselves Légatiens / Légatiennes .

geography

Laas is located around nine kilometers southwest of Mirande and 30 kilometers southwest of Auch in the south of the Gers department. The community consists of hamlets, numerous scattered settlements and individual farmsteads. The river Bouès forms part of the western and the Osse the eastern municipal boundary .

Neighboring communities are Pallanne in the north, Marseillan in the north and northeast, Saint-Maur in the northeast and east, Bazugues in the southeast, Miélan in the south and Tillac in the west.
