Bernède ( Gascon : Verneda ) is a French municipality with 204 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Gers in the region Occitan (previously Midi-Pyrénées ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Mirande and to the community association Communauté de communes d'Aire-sur-l'Adour .
geography
Bernède is located around 5 kilometers southeast of the small town of Aire-sur-l'Adour in the west of the Gers department. The main bodies of water are the Adour and Lées rivers , the Lesté stream and a pond. The most important supra-regional transport connection is the A65 autoroute (part of Europastraße 7 ), a few kilometers west of the municipality . The nearest train station is in Aire-sur-l'Adour.
Bernède is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Barcelonne-du-Gers in the north-west and north, Gée-Rivière in the east, Corneillan in the south-east, Lannux in the south and Aire-sur-l'Adour in the south-west.
