Scieurac-et-Flourèst is a French commune with 40 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitanie region (until 2015 Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Mirande and the municipal association of Bastides et Vallons du Gers, founded in 2000 . The inhabitants call themselves Scieuracais .

geography

Scieurac-et-Flourès is located in the Astarac countryside in the east of the historic Gascogne province in hilly terrain between the Baïse and Arros rivers , 40 kilometers north of Tarbes and about 35 kilometers west-southwest of Auch . The 5.38 km² municipal area shows a mixture of fields, meadows and trees and includes many hamlets and individual farms. The districts are mostly on bastide-style hills and crests . At the eastern edge of the municipality, the highest point is reached at 275 meters above sea level. There are seven smaller reservoirs in the municipality, which are used to irrigate agriculture and protect against flooding. Scieurac-et-Flourès is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Armous-et-Cau in the north, Mascaras in the east, Laveraët in the south, Marciac in the southwest and Tourdun in the west.

In the municipality of Scieurac-et-Flourès there are twelve agricultural holdings (mainly cereal growing, two seed operations).

The D 3 trunk road from Aire-sur-l'Adour to Mirande runs through the municipality of Marciac , which is twelve kilometers away . In Aire-sur-l'Adour, 48 kilometers away, there is a connection to the A 48 autoroute .
