Lasseube-Propre ( Gascon La Seuva Pròpra ) is a French municipality with 340 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Gers in the region Okzitanien ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mirande . Its inhabitants call themselves Lassylvains / Lassylvaines .
geography
Lasseube-Propre is about 8 kilometers south of the city of Auch in the center of the Gers department. The parish is touched by the River Sousson to the west and the Gers to the east. The Cédon stream crosses Lasseube-Propre from south to north. The community consists of the village of Lasseube-Propre, several hamlets and numerous individual farms. In terms of traffic, the municipality is located between the D929 and the N21 . The place is on Via Tolosana , one of the pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela.
history
A Castelnau (fortified village) is first mentioned in 1233. This settlement disappeared today. In the Middle Ages, the place was within the county of Astarac, which was part of the province of Gascony. The community belonged to the District of Auch from 1793 to 1801. In addition, Lasseube-Propre was part of the canton of Auch from 1793 to 1801. From 1801 to 1973 it was in the Canton of Auch-Sud. Then from 1973 to 2015 within the canton of Auch-Sud-Ouest . The municipality has been assigned to the arrondissement Auch since 1801.
