Mont-d'Astarac ( Gascon : Lo Mont d'Astarac) is a French municipality with 104 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Gers in the region Occitania (2015 Midi-Pyrénées ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Mirande and the municipal association Val de Gers . The residents call themselves Mont-d'Astaracais / Mont-d'Astaracaises .
geography
Mont-d'Astarac is located around 25 kilometers southeast of Mirande and 36 kilometers south of Auch in the very south of the Gers department on the border with the Hautes-Pyrénées and Haute-Garonne departments . The community consists of the village of Mont-d'Astarac, numerous scattered settlements and individual farms. The Arrats River crosses the municipality to the north.
Neighboring municipalities are Arrouède in the north, Cabas-Loumassès in the northeast, Manent-Montané in the east, Lalanne-Arqué and Boulogne-sur-Gesse (in the Haute-Garonne department) in the southeast, Thermes-Magnoac (in the Hautes-Pyrénées department) and Casterets ( in the Hautes-Pyrénées department) in the south, Sariac-Magnoac (in the Hautes-Pyrénées department) in the southwest and Chélan in the west.
