Labarthète ( Gascon : La Barteta) is a French municipality with 140 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Gers in the region Okzitanien ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mirande .
geography
Labarthète is located around eleven kilometers southeast of the small town of Aire-sur-l'Adour in the west of the Gers department. It belongs to the Côtes de Saint-Mont wine region . The main bodies of water are the Barry , Claquessot , Saget and Saint-Pot streams and several reservoirs and ponds. The most important supra-regional transport connection is the A65 autoroute (part of Europastraße 7 ), a few kilometers west of the municipality . The closest public transport stops are the bus stops in Saint-Germé and Riscle on the 940 Aire-sur-l'Adour-Tarbes bus line.
Labarthète is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Mont in the northeast, east and southeast, Viella in the south, Aurensan in the southwest, Bernède in the west and Corneillan in the northwest.
history
The municipality is historically located within Gascony . From 1793 to 1801 Labarthète belonged to the district of Nogaro and until 2015 to the canton of Riscle . In 1821 the municipalities of Louserson (1821: 91 inhabitants) and Saint-Pot (1821: 84 inhabitants), in 1822 the municipalities of La Gardère (1821: 68 inhabitants) and Loupourret (1821: 18 inhabitants) were incorporated.
