Cahuzac-sur-Adour ( Gascon : Caüsac d'Ador) is a French municipality with 223 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Gers in the region Okzitanien ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mirande .

geography

Cahuzac-sur-Adour is located around 21 kilometers southeast of the small town of Aire-sur-l'Adour in the west of the Gers department. The main bodies of water are the Adour River , the Boscassé Stream , the Canal d'Alaric and numerous reservoirs and ponds. The most important supra-regional transport connection is the A65 autoroute (part of Europastraße 7 ), a few kilometers west of the municipality . Cahuzac-sur-Adour is a bus stop (bus route 940 Mont-de-Marsan - Aire-sur-l'Adour - Tarbes).

Cahuzac-sur-Adour is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Izotges in the northeast, Tasque in the east, Goux in the south, Cannet in the southwest and Riscle in the west and northwest.

history

Historically, the municipality lies within Gascony and belongs to the Rivière-Basse region . From 1793 to 1801 Cahuzac-sur-Adour belonged to the Nogaro district and the Riscle canton . From 1801 to 2015 it was assigned to the Canton of Plaisance .
