Goux ( Gaskognisch : Gots) is a French commune with 67 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitanie region ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mirande .
geography
Goux is located around 21 kilometers southeast of the small town of Aire-sur-l'Adour in the west of the Gers department on the border with the Hautes-Pyrénées department . It belongs to the Côtes de Saint-Mont wine region . The main bodies of water are the Adour River and the Boscassé Stream . The most important supra-regional transport connection is the A65 autoroute (part of Europastraße 7 ), a few kilometers west of the municipality . The closest bus stops are in Cahuzac-sur-Adour and Castelnau-Rivière-Basse (bus route 940 Mont-de-Marsan - Aire-sur-l'Adour - Tarbes).
Goux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cahuzac-sur-Adour in the north, Tasque in the northeast, Galiax in the east, Préchac-sur-Adour in the southeast, Castelnau-Rivière-Basse (in the Hautes-Pyrénées department) in the south, Saint-Lanne (in the Hautes-Pyrénées) in the southwest and Cannet in the west.
history
Historically, the municipality lies within Gascony and belongs to the Rivière-Basse region . From 1793 to 1801 Cannet belonged to the district of Nogaro and the canton of Riscle . From 1801 to 2015 it was assigned to the Canton of Plaisance .
