The Bad Hersfeld Lollslauf is held annually at the beginning of Germany's oldest folk festival , the Lullusfest , by the Ski-Club-Neuenstein eV 1978. In 2015, with 4,689 participants, it was the fifth largest public and street run in Hesse .
history
The Bad Hersfeld Lollslauf was held for the first time in 2000. In 2007 Lisa and Anna Hahner started their successful athletic career in the half marathon of the Bad Hersfeld Lollslauf in a time of 1:29 h. The competition center has been located in the Schilde-Halle on the former site of Schilde AG since 2012 . In 2003, 2014 and 2019 the Lollslauf was the venue for the Hessian championships in the half marathon ; 2005 the Hessian Championships in road running over 10 km. In 2007 and 2008 the "North-East Hesse Cup" was a combined ranking with the Kassel Marathon (marathon in Kassel, half marathon in Bad Hersfeld).
As well as Winfried Aufenanger , voluntary association trainer of the marathon runners of the German Athletics Association (DLV) for twenty years, as well as Werner Damm , longtime deputy sports director of the Hessischer Rundfunk , have already moderated the Lollslauf several times.
Route
The running route of the Bad Hersfelder Lollslauf leads from Linggplatz over the Peterstor ( B 324 ) into the Fulda valley , in which it runs between the soccer field of the "FSV Hohe Luft" and the sports field of the " SG Hessen Hersfeld ". The city center is reached again through the spa gardens and past the Bad Hersfeld monastery ruins . While the half marathon runners run this lap twice, the 5 km runners only follow part of the route and already branch off via Berliner Straße towards the city center. The entire route is paved or paved throughout.
The 10 km and half marathon routes are officially measured running routes according to DLV / IAAF standards and can be ranked in the best lists for both individual and team results.

Trivia
- Shortly before the start of every race of the Lollslauf, all runners traditionally shout the battle cry Enner, zwoon, dräi - Brother Lolls! in honor of Lullus .
- In the team run, each team receives a non-burning torch before the start , which must be carried to the finish and is exchanged for an already burning torch after approximately 9.5 kilometers at the fire station. The person who wears this torch triggers the timing at the finish, regardless of whether the torch is still burning or not. The traditional team run is also shown in the Lollslauf logo.
