Terefe Desalegn

Terefe Desalegn (also written Terefe Desaleng ; born November 20, 1982 in Addis Ababa ) is a former Ethiopian long-distance runner .

In the junior race of the Cross Country World Championships 2000 in Vilamoura, he was ninth. He withdrew from the team and came to Germany as an asylum seeker , where he was soon accepted by the LG Eintracht Frankfurt . At the end of the year he won the Bietigheim New Year's Eve run , and the following year he became German champion in the 10 km road run .

In 2002 he became German junior cross-country champion and third in the German half marathon championship . At the national championship over 10 km he finished second overall behind Carsten Schütz and won the junior ranking.

In 2003 he finished second in the Griesheim road race . In 2005 he tried his hand at the Frankfurt Marathon on the 42.195 km distance, but did not reach the goal.
