Carsten Schütz
Carsten Schütz (born August 28, 1975 ) is a former German long-distance runner .
Sporting successes
In 1998 and 2000 he was German runner-up over 3000 meters in the hall .
At the German Championships in the 10-kilometer road race in 2001, he finished second, at the same time as the winner Terefe Desalegn . The following year the two athletes also finished at the same time, but this time the referees awarded Schütz the title.
In 2002 he was fourth in the Düsseldorf Kö-Lauf . The following year he finished tenth at the Great North Run , won the Essen Marathon Around Baldeneysee in the German annual best time of 2:14:58 h on his debut over the 42.195 km distance and won the Bietigheim New Year's Eve run .
In 2004 he came 20th in the Berlin Marathon . In 2007 he ended his competitive sports career after he had to give up at the Bonn Marathon .
