Bietigheim New Year's Run
The Bietigheim New Year's Eve run is a fun run that takes place in Bietigheim-Bissingen on New Year's Eve . In 1981 about 350 runners took part in the first event, in which the local heroes Reiner Müller ( Bönnigheim ) and Veronika Manz ( Walheim ) won on a 13.6 km long course. Since then, not only the number of participants but also the audience response has risen enormously, and today the Bietigheim New Year's Eve run is one of the largest of its kind in Germany.
The route begins and ends under the Bietigheimer railway viaduct and leads in two rounds of different sizes through the historic old town. In its current course it is 11.1 km.
