Fate Tola (born October 22, 1987 in Assela ) is a German long-distance runner of Ethiopian descent.
Career
In 2009 she won the Alexander the Great Marathon and came fourth in the Ljubljana Marathon .
In 2010 she was fifth in the Rome Marathon and won the Paderborn Easter run on the 10 km course. She was seventh at the World Half Marathon Championships in Nanning and second at the Turin Marathon .
In 2011 she won a marathon for the first time at the Vienna City Marathon and improved her personal best over this distance by over two minutes. In 2012 she was able to repeat this success. In 2015 Fate Tola became German champion over 10,000 meters on the track and 10 kilometers on the road
She has had German citizenship since 2016 and started wearing the jersey of the German national team for the first time in July at the European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam . In 2016 she became German champion over 5000 meters on the track and in the marathon . She won this championship title as part of the Frankfurt Marathon , where she finished second, just 15 seconds behind the winner, Mamitu Daska .
At the European Athletics Championships in 2016 , she finished eighth in the 5000 m run. In 2017 she won the Hanover Marathon in 2:27:48 h.
From 2012 to 2017 she started for the Braunschweig Athletics Association ( MTV Braunschweig ). She has started for Hannover Athletics since 2018 .

Tola is married to the German long-distance runner Musa Roba-Kinkal (* 1989) from Ethiopia .
