geography

Estación Atlántida is located in the department of Canelones in sector 17 . To the south, the Río-de-la-Plata coastal town borders Atlántida . In a few kilometers to the northeast is the city of Dr. Francisco Soca .

Infrastructure

Estación Atlántida is located north of the Ruta Interbalnearia on Ruta 11 . In addition, a railway line runs through the city.

Attractions

Estación Atlántida is home to the Roman Catholic parish church of Cristo Obrero (Christ the Worker), designed by Uruguayan architect Eladio Dieste in 1952 and built from 1958 to 1960. The architectural work Dieste in Uruguay, to which this church belongs, was in 2010 for inclusion in the list of UNESCO - World Heritage proposed. Sometimes this church is called the Iglesia de Atlántida , a little imprecisely .
