Petra Wassiluk (born October 27, 1969 in Darmstadt ) is a former German long-distance runner .

Career

In 1995 Petra Wassiluk became German cross-country champion on the short course . In 1996 she became German champion over 5000 meters . At the Olympic Games in Atlanta she was eliminated over the same distance in the preliminary run, and at the European Cross Country Championships in Charleroi she came in 23rd place.

In 1997 she won the half marathon of the Las Vegas Marathon . At the German Championships over 10,000 meters , she was the first to cross the finish line, but was disqualified because of an inadmissibly high level of caffeine in her blood and was suspended for three months. At the Half Marathon World Championships in Košice , she finished 16th.

The following year she won the Tübingen city run and became German cross-country champion in both the short and long distance. In 1999 she won the Ōme marathon on the 10-kilometer route. In 2000 she became German champion over 10,000 meters and was eliminated in the preliminary round over this distance at the Olympic Games in Sydney .

In 2001 she became German champion in the half marathon and national runner-up over 10,000 meters and in the 10-kilometer road race. At the Paderborn Easter run she was seventh over 10 kilometers, at the Frankfurt Marathon she was fourth and third in the German Marathon Championship . At the end of the season she won the Bietigheim New Year's Eve run .

Petra Wassiluk started for ASC Darmstadt until 2000 and from 2001 for LG Eintracht Frankfurt . The qualified sports teacher was employed at the sports health center of the TU Darmstadt and has been working in the organization office of the Frankfurt Marathon since 2002 .

Today Petra Wassiluk is also active as a trainer. For example, from 2009 to 2011 she looked after the German triathlete Susan Blatt . Since 2011 she has been responsible for running training for triathletes Daniela Sämmler and Christian Sämmler.
