Timo "Furkka" Furuholm (born October 11, 1987 in Pori ) is a Finnish football player . Furuholm has been under contract with Finnish first division club Inter Turku since January 2017 .

Career

The 1.85-meter-tall attacker began playing football with Toejoen Veikot , a club from the Pori region . On May 15, 2003 he was 15 years, seven months and five days the youngest player who was ever used in a Finnish first division match; for his club FC Jazz Pori he completed four league games in 2003. In 2004 he was hired by VG-62 , but was immediately awarded to third division team Musan Salama , who is also based in Pori, where he contributed 17 goals in 21 championship appearances. In the same season he also played two qualifying games (no official league appearances, only play-off games) for VG-62. In the following year Furuholm came to another four league games and two goals for his team, before he moved to Inter Turku in the Veikkausliiga , the top Finnish division, in the current season . In 2008 he won the Finnish championship and league cup with Inter Turku, and in 2009 the cup competition. At first he only made a few appearances in the championship and was awarded to his ex-club VG-62 in 2006 and 2007. His real breakthrough only began in 2009, when he scored eleven times in 23 league games. After only four appearances in 2010, he was able to add a little more in the game year and scored 22 league goals in 33 championship games. For the second half of the 2011/12 season he moved to the German second division Fortuna Düsseldorf .

For the second half of the 2012/13 season he was awarded to the 3rd league for Halleschen FC . There the Finn was the top scorer of his team with eight goals from 16 games and was also successful as an assistant with two assists and numerous other actions. This achievement was also used by the HFC fans as an opportunity to start an online petition to get Furuholm, who returned to Düsseldorf after the loan period ended, back to Halleschen FC. On August 16, 2013 he finally moved permanently to Halleschen FC and returned to Finland in 2017 to his former club Inter Turku .

National team

In a friendly game of the Finnish men's national team in January 2010 against South Korea in Málaga , Spain , he came as a substitute for Hermanni Vuorinen in the 74th minute for his first international appearance with the seniors.
