Daniela Bleymehl (* 6 August 1988 in Essen as Daniela Sämmler ) is a German triathlete and three-time Ironman -Siegerin (2015, 2017, 2018). She is included in the best list of German triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

In her youth Daniela Sämmler was active as a swimmer, started her first triathlon as a 12-year-old and has been doing triathlon since 2002. In September 2009 in Mexico she reached second place at her first start at half the Ironman distance ( Ironman 70.3 : 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running) and thus qualified for a starting place at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in November in Clearwater, Florida.

Daniela Sämmler started for the TuS Griesheim until 2008 , in 2009 for the ALZ Sigmaringen and since 2010 for the DSW '12 Darmstadt .

Professional triathlete since 2010

Daniela Sämmler has been a professional triathlete since 2010. In May 2010 she won the Siegerland Cup and she was able to repeat this success in 2012. Her son was born in February 2011 and she took a break for some time. At the Ironman 70.3 European Championships in August 2012 she was eighth. In Spain she won the bronze medal at the first start on the long distance in September. In August 2013 she won the silver medal in Copenhagen at her second Ironman start in Denmark.

Ironman 2015 winner

Daniela Sämmler was trained by Utz Brenner from 2015 to the end of 2017 . In September 2015, the then 27-year-olds managed Alcudia in her sixth start on the long distance of the first Ironman -Sieg (3.86 km swim, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running).

In July 2016 she finished third at the Ironman European Championship in Frankfurt am Main. In the middle distance she won the Challenge Heilbronn in June 2017 and successfully defended this title in 2018. In August 2017 she also won the first Ironman Hamburg and achieved her second Ironman victory in the Hanseatic city.

Björn Geesmann has been training her in the Staps team since the end of 2017 . At the Challenge Roth , the then 29-year-old was able to achieve the new best time of a German athlete on the long distance in July 2018 with her winning time of 8:43:42 h, thus improving the record held by Sandra Wallenhorst since 2008 by almost four minutes.

In September 2019 she won the Ironman 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun . At the Ironman Hawaii in October 2019, she finished ninth as the third-best German.

Private

She has been married since December 2018 and has started as Daniela Bleymehl since then . She lives in Darmstadt with her husband and son .
