Natascha Schmitt (born Natascha Karin Schmitt on February 19, 1986 in Bad Soden ) is a German long-distance runner , duathlete and triathlete .

Career

Professional triathlete since 2011

Natascha Schmitt has been doing triathlon since 2009 and has been a professional athlete since 2011.
In 2012 she completed her degree in sports science at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . Schmitt started in the triathlon mainly on the Olympic distance as well as on the middle distance.

Long distance since 2013

In July 2013 she started the long distance in Frankfurt for the first time and in July 2014 she finished tenth at the Ironman Germany (Ironman European Championships).

In August 2015 she won the Frankfurt City Triathlon for the third time in the sixth edition . In September she won her first victory in the middle distance at Ironman 70.3 Rügen.

At Ironman 70.3 Luxembourg, the then 30-year-old took her second victory in the middle distance in June 2016, after finishing second here the previous year.
In July she was fourth at the Ironman European Championships in Frankfurt am Main and thus third at the German championship on the long-distance triathlon. With 9:16:40 hours she set a new personal best for the Ironman distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running). It has not appeared internationally since 2018.

Natascha Schmitt lives in Frankfurt am Main , works as a freelance personal trainer and supports a. a. the triathlete Bianca Grosse .
