Meike Krebs (born December 20, 1979 in Frankfurt am Main ; married Meike Krebs-Gatzka ) is a former German triathlete . In 2006 she won her age group at Ironman Germany (Ironman European Championships).
Career
Meike Krebs grew up in Fechenheim . From 2000 to 2007 she studied sports science with psychology as a minor at the University of Frankfurt .
Meike Krebs was active as a runner from 1994 and in 2001 she started triathlon. At her first start over the long distance in July 2006 in Frankfurt, Meike Krebs won her age group women 25–29. Since she was just about to complete her studies, she gave up the opportunity to acquire a starting place at the Ironman Hawaii .
Professional triathlete since 2007
From 2007 to 2014 she started as a professional triathlete in the triathlon both on the short and long distance for the Erdinger alcohol-free team . Her trainers were Ralf Ebli and Christian Hildebrandt (swimming) and her nickname is "Mickey" .
After suffering a knee injury from a fall in 2012 for a long time, she ended her professional career in September 2014. Meike Krebs-Gatzka is active as a brand ambassador for the triathletes in the Erdinger alcohol-free team - together with Nicole Leder , Wenke Kujala , Norbert Langbrandtner and Lothar Leder and she wants to become more involved in company health management.
Meike Krebs-Gatzka has been married to the former track and field athlete Sebastian Gatzka (* 1982) since 2014 and the two live with their two sons in Immenstaad on Lake Constance .
