organization

In 2000 and 2001, EventPro, as a license partner of the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), the owner of the rights to the Ironman brand, organized a triathlon under the name "Ironman South Africa" in Cape Town . In 2000 the event was also advertised for relay teams. In 2002 the event was canceled - the official reason was financing problems due to the exchange rate in South Africa: license fees to the WTC as well as prize money had to be paid by the organizer in US dollars.
