Lucy Gossage (born December 25, 1979 in Nottingham ) is a British duathlete and triathlete . She is two-time duathlon European champion (2012, 2013), challenge winner (2012) and multiple Ironman winner (2013-2018). She is included in the best list of British triathletes on the Ironman distance

Career

Lucy Gossage studied medicine at Cambridge University and worked in cancer research.

In 2005 she started her first triathlon and since 2010 she has been active as a professional athlete.

European Duathlon Champion 2012 and 2013

In April 2012 she became European Duathlon Champion in the Netherlands and fifth at the Ironman 70.3 European Championship in Wiesbaden in August. At the Duathlon European Championships, she was able to defend her title in April 2013.

Ironman winner 2013

In August she won the Ironman UK and was able to repeat this success in 2015. In July 2016 she won the Ironman UK for the third time. In October she finished ninth at the Ironman Hawaii and thus got the best place at her fourth start.

In May 2017 she was third at the Ironman Lanzarote . In September, Gossage won the Ironman Wales for the second time since 2013 and thus achieved her seventh Ironman victory. In July 2018, the 38-year-old won the Ironman UK for the fifth time. In September she won the Ironman Wales for the third time.

Lucy Gossage lives in Cambridge and starts for the TFN Tri Club . Since the beginning of 2017 she has been working as a medical doctor again.
