The Ironman 70.3 Pays d'Aix France is one since 2011 in France Aix-en-Provence held Triathlon -Sportveranstaltung over the middle distance 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km run.

organization

Ironman 70.3 is a protected trademark of the Chinese Dalian Wanda Group or its subsidiary WTC , which originally awarded its use to independent organizers in return for payment of license fees and has increasingly also been an organizer itself since 2009.

The Ironman 70.3 Pays d'Aix France was held for the first time on September 25, 2011 and 35 starting places for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship are awarded here every year.

Until 2013, the race was held in September and since 2014 it has been held in May.
In 2016 swimming had to be canceled due to the weather and the race started with cycling without replacement.

The German Andreas Böcherer and the French Bertrand Billard have won the race three times, his compatriot Jeanne Collonge twice. The race was last held on May 12, 2019.

Route

  • Swim a lap in the lake of Peyrolles-en-Provence (about 20 km from Aix-en-Provence).
  • The 90 km cycle route starts in Peyrolles and ends in the center of Aix-en-Provence.
  • The final running route over the half marathon distance runs on a four-way round course.

Course records

The course record has been held by Frenchman Stéphane Poulat since the first edition in 2011 with his winning time of 3:49:43 h. In the women's race, the British Emma Pallant improved the women's course record to 4:19:56 h in the ninth edition in 2019 .
