Tamsin Lewis (born July 6, 1979 in Exeter ) is a former British triathlete and Ironman winner (2014) who now works in the medical field.
Career
Her father Colin Lewis was a successful British cyclist who competed in the 1968 Olympics.
Tamsin Lewis was active in tetrathlon (swimming, running, shooting and riding) in her youth , she completed a medical degree and took part in her first triathlon in 2007. In 2008 she was eleventh at the ITU World Championships on the triathlon short distance in the age group 25-29. Her nickname is Tim Tam .
Triathlon world champion 2009
In September 2009 she was amateur world champion in the age group 30-34 and since 2010 Lewis started as a professional triathlete. In July 2014, she won the Ironman UK at her first start in an Ironman race (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running). In September 2014, she officially ended her career as a triathlon professional.
Tamsin Lewis is married, she lives in London and her daughter was born in March 2015. Today she works as a sports medicine specialist.
