The London Triathlon should not be confused with the ITU World Triathlon London , which was held annually from 2009 to 2015 in Hyde Park and the city center on the competition tracks of the 2012 Olympic Games as part of the Dextro Energy World Championship Series , which will take place in 2016 in Leeds in London . In July 2011, British entrepreneur Richard Branson also competed in the London Triathlon, whose company Virgin Active became one of the sponsors of the competition. Every year a large number of London companies and their employees compete in a company ranking. In the week following the competition, hour-long summaries will appear on Channel 4 , Sky Sports and British Eurosport .
