Career

His father Georges Belaubre (* 1944) is one of the triathlon pioneers in France, who became the first French national champion on the short distance triathlon in 1985 at the age of 41.

Fred Belaubre came to triathlon through swimming as a 15-year-old.
In 1999, at the age of 19, he began to take part in ITU competitions and became Junior World Champion one year later. Since 2001, Belaubre has only competed in the elite class as a professional. Since then he has been one of the medalists at ITU competitions and other national and international triathlons.

In 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010 he was French national champion on the short distance triathlon.

At the Olympic Games in Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008) he was fifth and tenth, respectively. Frédéric Belaubre was European champion in 2005, 2006 and 2008. At the World Championships in Lausanne in 2006 he was third.

Fred Belaubre lives in Saint-Raphaël and trains in neighboring Boulouris-sur-Mer . Since 2009 he has been coached by Pierre Houseaux , the head of the triathlon section at the Pôle Boulouris, as he had before in the years 2006 to 2007. In France, Fred Belaubre competed for the elite club Beauvais Triathlon , for which he was in 2009 and 2010 won the silver medal in the Lyonnaise des Eaux club championship series . In 2011 Belaubre remained loyal to the club, although it boycotted the Lyonnaise des Eaux championship . In April 2011 he opened the new season with two European Cup silver medals.
In the German Bundesliga, Belaubre competed for the EJOT Team TV Buschhütten .

In July 2015 he became the French national champion in the triathlon middle distance.

Fred Belaubre is in a relationship with Charlotte Morel (* 1989), who also trains at the ‹Creps Paca› with Pierre Houseaux and competes for the Beauvais Triathlon .

In 2016, the then 36-year-old declared his active time over.
