Pierre Le Corre (born February 3, 1990 in Vannes ) is a French duathlete and triathlete . He is U23 world champion (2013), two-time national triathlon champion (2014, 2015), Olympian (2016) and reigning European champion in the Olympic distance (2018).

Career

Pierre Le Corre was active in swimming as a teenager.
He has been a professional athlete since 2009. In 2012 Le Corre was U23 European triathlon champion and at the military world triathlon championship he was runner-up in Switzerland in August of the same year.

U23 world champion triathlon 2013

In 2013 he became the U23 world triathlon champion in London.

In 2014 Pierre Le Corre became national triathlon champion in Nice and he was able to successfully defend this title in 2015. In May 2016 he became Vice State Champion.

Pierre Le Corre finished 25th at the Summer Olympics on August 18, 2016 in Rio de Janeiro as the second-best French behind Vincent Luis (7th). As part of the 2016 World Championship racing series, he finished eighth after the ninth and final race (Grand Final) in Mexico in September.

In June 2017, Le Corre was runner-up in the sprint distance in the elite class behind the Portuguese João José Pereira in Düsseldorf .

European champion triathlon short distance 2018

In August 2018, the 28-year-old was European triathlon champion in Glasgow in the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running) and one day later he was also European relay champion in the French mixed team. In the 2018 world championship racing series , he finished eighth as the second best Frenchman behind his compatriot, the new vice world champion Vincent Luis .

Pierre Le Corre lives in Montpellier .
