David Hauss (born February 1, 1984 in Paris ) is a former French triathlete . He is junior vice world champion (2002, 2003), European and World Cup third in 2010, Olympic athlete (2012) and European triathlon champion (2015).

Career

In 1997 David Hauss started his first triathlon.

Like Emmie Charayron , Laurent Vidal and Charlotte Morel , Hauss belongs to the triathlon team of the French army ( Equipe de France militante de Triathlon ). He starts in the squad of the 1st team (1st Bundesliga) for the EJOT Team TV Buschhütten .

Junior Vice World Champion Triathlon 2002

In 2002 and 2003 he was junior vice world champion in triathlon.

David Hauss also takes part in the French club championship series Grand Prix de Triathlon . Like many top French triathletes (e.g. Emmie Charayron ), he competes for the Lagardère Paris Racing club . In the 2011 season he only took part in one of the Lyonnaise triathlon competitions: in Nice (April 24, 2011) he came in sixth and was second best in his club behind Steffen Justus .

2012 Summer Olympics

Together with Laurent Vidal, he qualified for a starting place at the 2012 Olympic Games and came fourth in London in August.

European Triathlon Champion 2015

In July 2015 he became European champion on the short distance triathlon in Geneva . What was remarkable here was that he did without shoes during the last change and walked the distance barefoot. He was trained by Joel Hauss .
Hauss has not appeared internationally since 2017.

David Hauss lived in Les Avirons , La Réunion and in Saint-Raphaël . He has been married to the former Swiss professional triathlete Melanie Hauss (* 1982) since September 2012 . The two live together in Schönenwerd and have two sons.
