The EJOT Team TV Buschhütten is a triathlon club from Buschhütten , City of Kreuztal , Westphalia .

history

In 1885 the gymnastics club Germania Buschhütten 1885 eV , TVG Buschhütten for short, was founded. With short breaks due to the world wars, the club has been running for over 125 years. The association currently has 612 members ( as of January 2012 ), including around 200 children and young people.

The triathlon department of TVG Buschhütten has existed since 1989. It was renamed to its current name through the entry of the main sponsor. Since January 1, 2006, the triathlon event, the main association TVG Buschhütten and the EJOT team have been separate for tax purposes.

The triathlon around the Siegerland Cup , which took place for the first time in 1987, contributed a large part to the success of the EJOT team , as it made the sport of triathlon popular in Buschhütten and the surrounding area. In 2011 the Triathlon Siegerland Cup celebrated its 25th anniversary.

In July 2015, Rainer Jung, who has been the team manager of TVG Buschhütten and has been the chief organizer of the Siegerland Cup since 1987 and the club's executive chairman since 1995, announced his resignation after the 30th anniversary in the coming year.

Timetable

  • 1999: The men's regional league team moves up to the Bundesliga West (NRW League) and in the following year reaches 7th place in its first season.
  • 2001: The first men's team is promoted to the 1st Bundesliga . The second team is promoted to the league.
  • 2002: The first team is relegated.
  • 2005: Promotion of the first team to the 1st Bundesliga
  • 2008: The second men's team is promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga North.
  • 2009: This year the EJOT team achieved their greatest success so far: All four teams (1st division, 2nd Bundesliga north, regional league south and women's regional league) became champions or runners-up in their league.
  • 2010: This year the first men's team was able to become German team champions again. In addition, the women were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. The second men's team took second place in the 2nd Bundesliga, the 3rd men's team rose to the top division.
  • 2011: Four teams - 4 victories: the women and all three men's teams became German champions in their leagues. The first team managed a "Grand Slam" by winning all the competitions of a season.
  • 2012: This year there were 5 teams at the start. Champions were 1st Bundesliga men and women as well as Regionalliga women, 2nd Bundesliga men became runner-up and 3rd place was taken by the men's regional league team.
  • In 2015, the men's team won the title for the seventh time in a row and the women's team for the fourth time in a row.
