The Tacuarembó Futbol Club , shortly Tacuarembó FC (nickname: La Rojiblanca , Rojo , El Tacua and El Equipo de Gardel ), is a football club from the Department of Tacuarembó located namesake Tacuarembó in northern Uruguay . The club's soccer team plays in the second highest Uruguayan league, the Segunda División , in the 2016 season .
history
It was founded on November 13, 1998 as an amalgamation of 21 different clubs and has played in the top Uruguayan league, the Primera División, without interruption since 1999 . The club achieved its best overall ranking in 2000 when it came in sixth. In the 2009/10 season the club was table 13. and was only just able to prevent relegation to the Segunda División . In the 2010/11 season they finished 15th in the final table and thus penultimate place ( Apertura 2010 16th; Clausura 2011 11th). Since the relegation rating was calculated from an average of the two previous seasons and thus also included the 2009/10 season, you had to go to the side of Miramar Misiones in the second division. In 2011/2012 they finished 4th in the second division and thus took part in the promotion play-offs. There they failed in the semifinals after penalty shoot-out by Huracán.
The 2013/14 season ended the team of Tacuarembó FC as first and champions of the Segunda División. Due to the associated promotion, Tacuarembó FC played in the Primera División in the 2014/15 season. However, master trainer Jorge Castelli did not go along this path and resigned on June 12, 2014. On July 1, 2014, Jorge Moncecchi took over the vacant coaching position. His coaching team consisted of Andrés Rodríguez, goalkeeping coach Bilmar Guedes and an assistant coach to be determined. However, success did not materialize and so they parted ways on October 12, 2014 after a 2: 3 defeat against El Tanque Sisley from Moncecchi. The Northern Uruguayans were at the bottom of the table at this time. On October 16, 2014, Mario Saralegui took over the vacant coaching position. Moncecchi's coaching team Nicanor Leal (assistant coach) and Andrés Rodríguez ("preparador fisico") completed the coaching staff under Saralegui. After being bottom of the table in the Apertura with just seven points, the club's team played a much more successful back series under Jorge Castelli, who returned as coach in January 2015, and took 6th place in the table in the Clausura standings. Nevertheless, it was enough in the annual overall table as well as in the relegation ranking to a 15th place. This meant the immediate return to the second class.

He plays his home games at the Estadio Raul Saturnino Goyenola, which, according to the club, has a capacity of 9,000 .
