Aldo Díaz , full name Aldo Fabián Díaz , (born May 28, 1975 in Durazno ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.78-meter-tall offensive player Díaz began his career as a goalkeeper with Peñarol de San Gregorio de Polanco before he was finally used in the center-forward position. Before moving to professional football in 1999, he was Vice-Champion of the Interior (Campeón del Interior, OFI) with Defensor de Paso de los Toros . He was a member of the first division club Tacuarembó FC from Clausura 1999 to Clausura 2000 . He made his debut with the Northern Uruguayans in September 1999 in an encounter with Club Atlético Peñarol at the Estadio Centenario . In 2001 he played at Liverpool Montevideo in the Segunda División . In the 2002 season, Díaz had 22 games and nine goals in that league at Club Deportivo Colonia . The 2003 season he spent in the ranks of the first division club Central Español , for whom he met five times in 27 appearances in the Primera División . In the Torneo Clasificatorio 2004 he was again in the ranks of the Tacuarembó FC. In the Clausura 2005 Brujas was his employer in Costa Rica , for whom he only scored one goal in eleven first division appearances. As a player, he again represented Club Deportivo Colonia in the Uruguayan mid-season 2005 and the subsequent Apertura 2005. From the Apertura 2006 to the Apertura 2008 he was again active for Tacuarembó FC and was there in the 2006/07 season with 15 goals top scorer of the Primera División . In the Apertura 2008, the statistics show the Northern Uruguayans three league goals scored for Díaz. He followed this up with six goals for Club Atlético Bella Vista in the Clausura 2009 . He then moved a second time to Liverpool Montevideo. With the Montevideans he ran in 16 first division matches in 2009/10. He hit the opposing goal three times. From the Apertura 2010 he was again under contract with Tacuarembó FC. 25 first division games (four goals) in the 2010/11 season are booked there. In the meantime he played at the amateur level at Oriental ( Paso de los Toros ). In the 2013/14 season, after he claimed to have worked for the club from Tacuarembó for the sixth time in his career, he won the Segunda División with the team and contributed to it with 25 second division appearances and 19 goals. This made him the second division top scorer this season. Díaz is also the most successful goalscorer in the history of the Tacuarembó FC (89 goals, as of May 25, 2012; 100 goals, as of December 9, 2013, 116 goals, as of September 8, 2014).

In the 2014/15 season he was used 29 times (14 goals) in the top Uruguayan division. Even after relegation at the end of the season, he remained loyal to the club and completed 20 second division games (seven goals) in the 2015/16 season. This was followed by two goals in ten league appearances in the 2016 season.
