The Club Deportivo Colonia , or Deportivo Colonia for short (nickname: Depor Colonia ), is a football club from the city of Juan Lacaze in the south-west of Uruguay , located in the Colonia department . The club is currently not participating in a competition within the framework of the AUF , the Uruguayan Football Association.
history
The club was founded on October 16, 1999 with the support of the Federación Departamental de Fútbol de Colonia to establish a club from the regional department in professional football. Due to financial problems, they withdrew from gaming operations in August 2006.
successes
Since 2000 they played in the second highest division of Uruguay, the Segunda División . After promotion to the Primera División , they stayed there from 2003 to 2005.
