Edgardo Arias , full name Edgardo Martín Arias Ferrari , (born June 17, 1964 in Las Piedras ) is a Uruguayan football coach .
Career
At the beginning of his coaching career, Arias initially worked in the position of assistant coach. His employer was the Racing Club de Montevideo from February to December 1999 , Paysandú Bella Vista from July 2000 to June 2001 and the Club Deportivo Colonia from July 2002 to mid-September 2004 . At the club from Juan Lacaze in the Colonia department , he was then promoted to head coach for around five weeks. In mid-December 2005, he then took up an assistant coach position at Club Atlético Rentistas , which he held until mid-September 2006. From January 2007 to the end of June 2007 he was the responsible trainer at Sud América . From October 2007 to the beginning of March 2008 he was responsible for training management at Boston River . At the end of March 2008 he accepted an engagement at Villa Española , which ended at the end of June 2008. From mid-July 2008 to the end of June 2009, he was the head coach of the Club Sportivo Cerrito team . From mid-August 2009 until the end of the Clausura 2010, Juventud gave him the job of coaching the professional team. His next coaching position at Racing Club de Montevideo lasted from October 2010 to April 2011. In November 2011, he was then committed to Club Atlético Rentistas, whose training he led until the end of the 2011/12 season. From August 2012 to mid-December 2012, Arias was the trainer of the Rampla Juniors . From March 2013 to June 2015 he was a coach at Club Atlético Atenas . With the team he rose to the Primera División at the end of the 2013/14 season and then extended his contract in June 2014. His coaching staff at the club from San Carlos consisted of assistant coach Diego Sienra , Prof. Marcos Rodríguez and goalkeeping coach Rafael Hermida . However, he missed relegation with the team in the following season. During the 2015/16 season he was then under contract with the second division club Deportivo Maldonado . In mid-July 2016, his league competitor Club Atlético Torque hired him . In November 2016, the collaboration between Arias and the Montevideans ended again. Since March 2017 he has been coaching the team of the first division club Plaza Colonia as the successor to Leonel Rocco . His coaching team consists of Charles Castro as assistant coach and Tomás Cosenza in the role of "preparador físico".
