David Keith Dallas (born August 28, 1982 in Papatoetoe , Auckland, New Zealand) is a rapper and hip-hop singer from Auckland , New Zealand with roots in Samoa and Europe. He's signed to Duck Down Records .
Career
Dallas' debut album Something Awesome was released in August 2009.
The album The Rose Tint , released on May 11, 2011, was made available for free on its website. It reached 50,000 downloads. This made it the best-selling album in New Zealand in 2011. The Rose Tint was nominated for three New Zealand Music Awards .
In September 2012, David Dallas released the EP Buffalo Man as a free download. All songs were inspired, mixed or interpolated by Jamiroquai .
In October 2013, Dallas' third studio album, Falling Into Place, was released . It landed at number 2 on the New Zealand album charts. The single Runnin 'went platinum in January 2014 and became known as the FIFA 14 soundtrack. Dallas was named Best Male Artist and his album was named Best Urban / Hip-Hop at the New Zealand Music Awards.
Dallas helped Eminem with his first show in New Zealand, in February 2014 at the Western Springs' Rapture Event .
