Henry Giménez , full name Henry Damián Giménez Báez , (born March 13, 1986 in Durazno ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

Henry Giménez began his career in the youth of Centro Atlético Fénix . From the Clausura 2004 he was in the squad of Fénix in the Primera División Profesional de Uruguay , the highest Uruguayan league. After two goalless missions in the mid-season 2005, he completed a total of 13 games for the Albivioletas in the 2005/06 season, in which he was able to score two goals. After the Apertura 2005 he left the capital city and joined the Tacuarembó FC for the Clausura 2006 and the Apertura 2006 , for which he scored two goals in 26 appearances. For the Clausura 2007 Giménez signed with River Plate Montevideo . After he was able to score three goals in 13 games in his first season at River Plate Montevideo, he managed to increase his hit rate in the following season. With 14 goals in 29 games, he was one of the team's best scorer. He stayed in Uruguay for one more season, during which he was able to mark ten goals in 23 games. In the Apertura 2009 he is in the squad of River Plate Montevideo and also came to another use, but he was transferred on August 31, 2009 on loan to the Italian first division club FC Bologna . The club was also guaranteed a purchase option. After he was not used in the first few months, he managed to play in the regular formation of the Emilians at the beginning of 2010. Bologna then drew the option to buy and definitely signed the Uruguayan attacker. In his first season he made 18 appearances in Serie A and scored three goals. In the following two years he ran in the league in 26 games (three goals) and 14 games (no goal). However, he did not get beyond a status as a supplementary player, since substitutions far outweighed the starting eleven. In the first half of the 2012/13 season there were only two substitute appearances. In January 2013 he then temporarily joined the US Grosseto on loan , where he played 15 matches in Serie B and contributed one goal. However, he returned to Bologna for the 2013/14 season , but was not used. At the beginning of January 2014 he moved to Nacional Montevideo . With the Bolsos he played six league games in the 2013/14 season, scored one goal and was also set up once in the Copa Libertadores 2014 (no goal). In the 2014/15 season he was used in the Apertura in eleven first division games (one goal). In May 2015, however, he was listed as a clubless player by the Uruguayan professional football players' union MUFP . At the beginning of July 2015 he joined the team of the Peruvian club Universitario de Deportes, trained by Luis Fernando Suárez . There he played seven first division games (no goal) and three games (one goal) in the 2015 Copa Sudamericana . At the beginning of January 2016 he switched to Mushuc Runa . With the Ecuadorians he was used five times (no goal) in Primera A. He was then initially without a club. At the beginning of November 2016, the Maltese club Gżira United announced that they had signed Giménez for a year. In February 2017, the Uruguayan second division club Deportivo Maldonado signed him .

National team

Henry Giménez was a member of Roland Marcenaro ’s U-23 team in Uruguay in at least June 2007 . He played his first of two international matches for the senior national team of Uruguay on May 25, 2008 in a friendly against Turkey. The second mission followed three days later. This time the friendly opponent was the Norwegian team. He didn't score in either game.

Others

At the beginning of February 2015 he was on trial because he escaped an alcohol control by the police on his way home to the Festival Nacional del Folclore in Durazno. Giménez was sentenced to house arrest for 90 days on Saturdays and Sundays between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.
