EJOT is a medium-sized German group of companies that develops and produces solutions for connection technology in the fields of industry, construction and plastics. The group's headquarters are in Bad Berleburg in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district .
history
The origin of EJOT is the Adolf Böhl company, founded in Bad Berleburg-Berghausen in 1922, which initially dealt with the production of nails.
In 1960, after the founder's death, the company was taken over and continued by his nephew Hans W. Kocherscheidt. In 1965 this company Eberhard Jaeger acquired in Laasphe , produced the screws, and led both companies under the name EJOT (derived from the initials pronounced E Berhard J Aeger) together.
In 1971, production in Bad Berleburg was supplemented by plastics production. In 1993 EJOT took over the screw factory Tambach GmbH in Tambach-Dietharz , Thuringia. In addition, since 1985 the company has been expanded by a large number of foreign companies and branches in Scandinavia, Europe, Russia, the USA, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico and China.
Since 2007 EJOT has been supplying screws for the New Safe Confinement , the "sarcophagus" for the damaged block of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. For this purpose, they must have a shelf life of 100 years.
In 2008 EJOT opened a new logistics center in Bad Laasphe with up to 7500 pallet spaces. In 2015, a new logistics center for the EJOT industrial divisions was opened at the Bad Berleburg location.
