Tamás Tóth (born May 29, 1989 ) is a Hungarian triathlete , Olympian (2016) and national triathlon champion (2013).

Career

Among the Hungarian elite triathletes, Tóth ranked 6th in the national rankings in 2010, in 2013 and 2014 he was in 2nd place. In June 2013 he became the triathlon state champion on the short distance.

Like Zsófia Tóth , he has been supported by the Heraklesz elite sport sponsorship for years .

Tamás Tóth lives in Budapest and competes in Hungary for Budaörsi Triatlon Club Egyesüle t , as does his team colleague Margit Vanek , who also competes in international competitions .

In 2015 he finished third at the state championship on the triathlon sprint distance in June.

2016 Summer Olympics

At the 2016 European Championships in Lisbon, he finished third in the team ranking. Tamás Tóth qualified for a starting place at the 2016 Summer Olympics and finished 33rd as the second best Hungarian in Rio de Janeiro on August 20 .

In July 2018, the 29-year-old finished sixth at the European Championships on the triathlon sprint distance in Estonia and three weeks later in Glasgow also third on the short distance. In October Tóth was elected to the ITU's athletes' committee for two years .
