Ákos Vanek (born September 27, 1984 in Budaörs ) is a Hungarian triathlete .
Career
Ákos Vanek starts for the Budaörsi Triathlon Club and he participates in the French championship series Grand Prix de Triathlon for the TCG 79 Parthenay club .
In 2010 Vanek finished fifth in the Aquathlon World Championship (2.5 km running, 1 km swimming and 2.5 km running).
In July 2014 he and the Hungarian team came third at the ITU World Championship on the triathlon sprint distance in Hamburg. In 2015 he finished fifth at the state championship on the triathlon sprint distance.
At the 2016 European Championships in Lisbon, he finished third in the team ranking.
His younger sister Margit (* 1986) is also active as a professional triathlete.
