Subsidizing underground mines in Germany

The list of active mines in Germany contains a complete list of the mines currently producing in Germany , i. H. underground plants for the extraction of mineral resources . Since these are usually non-mined natural resources, which the right to extract can be granted by the state independently of property ownership, the list has been expanded to include other non-mined natural resources, even if these are mined above ground. In Germany, ten are lignite - opencast mines . According to the Federal Mining Act (BBergG), all of these mines, i.e. underground mining and the exploration and extraction of non-mined mineral resources, are under mining supervision .

Companies that extract mined natural resources entirely with the help of boreholes ( crude oil , natural gas , brine , geothermal energy ) are not included, nor are systems for the extraction of stones and earth . The latter are fundamentally own mineral resources, the extraction of which belongs to the landowner. They are extracted in quarries ( natural stone ) or - in the case of loose rock - in sand , gravel or clay pits . Since 1996, mining has no longer been subject to the Federal Mining Act, but is regulated individually by the federal states.

Explanations

  • Name : As far as can be determined, the name corresponds to the designation chosen by the operator.
  • Start : As far as can be determined, this is the start of funding. Development work was just as little taken as the basis, as was unknown old mining in the area. Especially in older mines can be assumed that these meantime in deadlines were kept.
  • Funding : The specified quantities generally relate to the raw materials obtained , not the products obtained from them (raw materials).
  • Bodenschatz : The naming uses a rough classification. Special features may be listed in the Comments column .
  • Notes : The specified funding periods generally result from the extrapolation of the delivery quantities on the basis of the explored raw material stocks. These terms depend on many factors. Developments in raw material prices on the world market mean that mines go into operation and have to be shut down again depending on their profitability. Other factors, such as switching to neighboring fields of deposits or improved processing methods , also have an impact on the operating time.

Brown coal opencast mines

  • Start : At the start of a lignite open-cast mine, two times are particularly important: The start of opening (A) indicates the date on which the cover layers, which are often over 100 m thick, or overburden were excavated . The start of coal extraction (F) is then the actual start of production after the coal has been exposed.
