The European Salt Company GmbH & Co. KG , or esco for short, was a German mining company. It was founded in 2002 as a joint subsidiary of K + S and Solvay . Since 2004 it has been 100% owned by K + S AG. The company is based in Hanover . In 2019 it was merged with K + S KALI GmbH to form K + S Minerals and Agriculture GmbH .

Locations

At a total of 16 locations across Europe, Esco produces around five million tons of salt annually with around 1400 employees. The largest location is Bernburg with over 400 employees.
