The Anhydridbergwerk Hüttenheim is an anhydrite - mining in southern Willanzheimer hamlet Hüttenheim in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen . The mine opened in the second half of the 20th century and has been producing anhydrite and gypsum since then .

The mine, which stretches almost completely below the Tannenberg south of Hüttenheim, covers approx. 1.4 km 2 and comprises approx. 130 km of open stretches , was opened in 1957. The landowner mineral anhydrite occurs in this area in the Steigerwald foreland in mostly 4 m thick layers of gypsum keuper together with gypsum and is mined underground with an annual output of 200,000 t .

The mined rock is already broken underground to a grain size of <50 mm and then transported by conveyor belts to the screed plant built in 1985 directly at the tunnel mouth hole , in which various products such as flowing and leveling screeds, filling and leveling compounds are produced. The plant was modernized as early as 1992 and expanded to an annual capacity of 400,000 t. In 2011, 260,000 t screed mortar with compound , 215,000 t anhydrite and 336,000 t raw gypsum were produced.
