Seilitz is a district of the Saxon community Diera-Zehren in the district of Meißen .

geography

Seilitz is to the left of the Elbe, south of state road 32 and north of county road 8070 on a small plateau. The place is located about two kilometers from Zehren.

history

Seilitz and Kaolin Works (1916)

The round hamlet to block corridor Seilitz as 1334 for the first time many other villages in the region as Sylicz mentioned, and 1547 was the Erbamt Meissen properly. The manorial rule was exercised first by the manor Grödel , later the manor Schieritz . The place gained fame through the discovery of kaolin deposits, which could be used for the production of ceramics and porcelain in nearby Meissen. The deposits are still in use today. Between 1856 and 1875 the village belonged to the Meißen court office, and then to the office of the same name . In 1900 the size of the district was 177 hectares . Of the 85 inhabitants in 1925, 77 were Evangelical Lutheran , two were Catholic and six were non-denominational. Seilitz was parish in Zehren and is now part of the local parish . On November 1, 1935, the place was incorporated into Zehren . Through the district reform in 1952 , Seilitz became part of the Meißen district , which expanded several times after the reunification. Diera and Zehren merged to form Diera-Zehren on January 1st, 1999, and Seilitz has been part of this municipality since then.
